The terms that apply when you book, join, or otherwise use an Unpacko trip. Written to actually be read, not just filed — but still a binding agreement between you and us.

Unpacko is currently pre-launch: our legal entity incorporation and GST registration are in progress. The sections below marked with company or jurisdiction details are placeholders until that process completes — this page needs a legal review before it governs a real booking.
By booking a trip, paying a deposit, or otherwise using Unpacko's services, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. If you're booking on behalf of another traveller, you're confirming you have their authority to agree to these terms on their behalf, and that they've read them too.
You must be at least 18 years old to book a trip with Unpacko. Some trips have their own eligibility conditions — for example, Bathukamma is a women-only experience — stated clearly on the relevant trip page before you book. It's your responsibility to check a trip's specific conditions, including any age range noted under "Ideal for," before confirming.
A booking is confirmed once your deposit is received and we've sent written confirmation. Trips are priced as stated on the relevant trip page at the time of booking, in the currency shown. Payment is in two parts:
Group sizes are small and genuinely limited — usually six to eight travellers — so a seat is only guaranteed once the deposit clears, not when you first express interest.
Our trip dates are set by real festival and ritual calendars, not by us, and some elements of an itinerary depend on a host family's availability, local logistics, or the festival's own schedule on the day. We'll always tell you about a material change as soon as we know about it, and we'll never remove the core access that's the reason you booked — but minor sequencing or timing adjustments within a trip may happen without renegotiating the whole itinerary.
If Unpacko needs to cancel or substantially reschedule a trip — for example, if a minimum group size isn't reached — you're entitled to a full refund. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for the full terms.
If you need to cancel, you can do so at any time. Refund amounts depend on how far out from the trip start date you cancel, on a sliding scale from 70% down to 0%. Booking with Unpacko means agreeing to hold up your end of a few things:
You're being let into someone's home, family tradition, and community ritual — not a staged show. That access depends entirely on trust between Unpacko, our hosts, and every traveller in the group. We expect:
Unpacko reserves the right to remove a traveller from a trip, without refund, if their conduct seriously disrespects a host family, endangers the group, or breaches these terms — this is a last resort, not a first response to a difficult moment.
These trips involve real festival crowds, temple and courtyard environments, extended time outdoors, and physical activity that varies day to day — walking, sitting on the floor for extended periods, being in close proximity to large gatherings. You're responsible for assessing whether a trip is a good physical fit for you, and for disclosing anything we should know in advance. Unpacko takes reasonable care in planning routes, timing, and host arrangements, but cannot guarantee against the inherent unpredictability of festival crowds, weather, or travel in general.
To the extent permitted by law, Unpacko's liability for any claim arising from your trip is limited to the amount you paid for that trip. We aren't liable for indirect losses, missed connections, or circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, government action, festival date changes made by local authorities or communities, or acts of third parties such as host families, vendors, or transport providers.

Unpacko or our representatives may photograph or film group moments during a trip for use in our own marketing — our website, social channels, and future trip pages. By travelling with us, you consent to appearing in this kind of general group or scene photography, unless you tell us in writing before the trip that you'd prefer not to be included. Photography of host families and private ritual moments follows the same consent rules as anyone else's — see Conduct and respect for host communities above.
Everything on this website — copy, photography, itinerary structure, and design — belongs to Unpacko or is used with permission, and isn't available for reuse, republishing, or commercial use without our written consent.

We may update these terms as Unpacko grows — new trips, new verticals, or changes to how we operate. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of the page. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
